The Blue Flower

A 2nd year Project with an emphasis on historical research. Inspired by the Romantic era and the colour Blue (always) the primary concept evolved after reading the German romantic novel ‘Heinrich Von Ofterdingen’ by Novalis, where a young man falls deeply in love with a small blue flower. The research explores obsessive dreams and storytelling on the body, the final product shows the wearer adorned with poetry and symbolism felt by the the protagonist of the book, brightly coloured light-weight fabrics and puffy sensory motifs that recall the restless daydreams of the young man in the novel.
